Bio

Satyakam Saha is a Visual Artist and an Architect. Satya was born in Bhagalpur, Bihar.
After completing his graduate degree in architecture at 'The School of Planning and Architecture', New Delhi (1995), Satya joined forces as a principal in the multifaceted design firm, Ampersand, Delhi until 2000. It was during this time practicing as an architect that he stole time to paint. This led to exhibitions of his paintings in New Delhi.
Between 2000 -2003, Satya attended ‘The New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture’, NY, USA. He received 'The Milton & Sally Avery Foundation' scholarship in 2002. During and after his studies he worked part-time as studio assistant to several New York artists, helping them with projects in multi-disciplinary fields.
Between 2007-2011, he worked as an Assistant director at 'The Renee & Chaim Gross Foundation', NY. In September 2011, Satya returned back to India. He is a consultant at a design firm 'Daisies & Blue Skies', handling projects based in Sikkim and West Bengal, ranging from Graphic design & Exhibit design to Urban design.
As a Visual artist he explores and translates history, global affairs and philosophy. He works in multimedia to make his own interpretations and to connect his thoughts to a visual medium. His works have been exhibited widely, including at The Alliance Francaise New Delhi, Lincoln Center NY, The New York Studio School NY, Guild gallery NY, Twelve Gates gallery PA, The Visual Arts Center NJ, Aicon Gallery NY and Queens Museum of Art NY. His works are included in private collections internationally.
Satyakam Saha lives in Greater Noida and is a visiting professor at the School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi.
